Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms, Grandmoms, Aunties, Friend, and Mentors. It is an honor and privilege to be able to rear the next generation. We are responsible for nurturing life and our input into our families, friends, and neighborhoods last generations.

I share in this space as a believer, who has managed to 10X her life by connecting with God. About 1.5 years ago, I started to read and journal the Bible and that is where my life began to change. It’s where the Holy Spirit started to unwind a belief system of harm that I had adapted from pain. This time spent with God also connected me to purpose.

So, I share today from that context. When I read scripture, I look for the author of the book of the Bible I am reading. I read about who his audience is and what are the people experiencing. Then I journal the scripture. I include background that I read and the meaning of the scripture. Then I end with a written prayer. I do this most days of the week.

I share what I read with others and sometimes friends and family will text back what they read from my post. What I have found is that their reply contains understanding that I didn’t see. The Word of God is meant to come alive in the way we need it and in the season of life it is needed in.

“Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring praise at the city gate.”
Proverbs 31:31 NIV

Proverbs was mostly written by King Solomon. He is Israel’s richest and wisest king. His wealth is thought to be in the trillions based on today’s standards. Most of the Proverbs were written during the beginning of his reign. Israel was fully submitted to God and all of the twelve tribes were united. They were thriving.
Proverbs was written to provide wisdom to daily life. Proverbs 31 is considered part of wisdom for leaders proverbs. How fitting!

Proverbs lists our qualities as Moms as hard working, caring and nurturing others, good with handling money, caring for the poor, and respecting her husband. The strength of her character brings her honor. In a world that tries to define us by our outer appearance, God cares more about our hearts.

Father/God, thank you for the gift of motherhood. Thank you for a day that honors our sacrifice and love. Thank you for giving us wisdom to carry out our assignment. Thank you for the trusting us with your most loved treasure. Raising kids is not easy and it goes without thanks most of the time. I want to include a special prayer to the women that are on this list above. I pray for restoration and healing. In Jesus name! Amen

Have a blessed day ladies!
