“But may sinners vanish from the earth
and the wicked be no more.”
Psalm 104:35 NIV
The ending of this Psalm made me think of a post on social media I read a few months back. The person was sharing their barriers to believing in God. Another person commented that they did not believe in God because they pointed out the innocent suffering and harm that comes to children.
“The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.”
Genesis 2:15 NIV
God’s instruction with the very first man, Adam, was his job of taking care of his community. It sounds really cliche to state, but our community is the result of God being removed and not enough of us walking in purpose. It is our responsibility.
Even during my walk with Christ Jesus I have questioned God many times about harm that comes to children and other unfortunate circumstances in life. Including harm that came to me as a child (abuse 3yrs old). It is our responsibility as an adult to speak out and protect the helpless and weak.
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. (Proverbs 31:8)
